I caught that segment too, and honestly, I was also surprised Altoids didn't top the list. They've always seemed pretty reliable to me. Personally, I've found that store-brand mints can be surprisingly effective and much easier on the wallet. I usually grab whatever's on sale at my local grocery store, and they've never let me down yet. So don't worry too much about brand names—sometimes the budget-friendly options are just as good, if not better.
