Is Fluoride in Our Tap Water Really Doing Anything?

I mean, I've been drinking fluoridated tap water my entire life, but I still get cavities pretty regularly. It's kinda frustrating, you know? Like, isn't the point of fluoride supposed to be fewer dentist visits and less tooth decay? Feels like maybe it's not making as much of a difference as we've been told. Curious if other folks notice this too or if it's just my bad luck with teeth...

Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. My kiddo drinks fluoridated tap water too, but we still had a few cavity scares last year. Our dentist explained that fluoride helps strengthen enamel, but diet, genetics, and brushing habits play a huge role too. We started using fluoride toothpaste more consistently and cutting back on sugary snacksβ€”seems to be helping so far. Maybe worth trying if you haven't already? Teeth can be tricky sometimes...
