Mashed potatoes were honestly a lifesaver for me. I remember being so sick of sweet smoothies after just a few days—I couldn't even look at another banana without feeling queasy. Savory stuff definitely felt easier to handle long-term. I tried blending up some chicken noodle soup (minus the noodles, sadly) and it wasn't half bad. Warm broth-based soups felt comforting, especially when everything else seemed so weirdly sweet.

Did anyone else find temperature mattered a lot? For some reason, lukewarm or room-temp savory foods were way easier on my stomach than cold smoothies. I even blended up some chili once—sounds gross, I know—but it was surprisingly satisfying. Texture-wise, it wasn't exactly gourmet dining, but it helped me feel more normal during recovery.

Definitely—temperature can make a huge difference comfort-wise. Lukewarm savory foods are usually gentler on sensitive gums and healing tissues. Chili though...that's brave, haha. Did you manage spice okay? Usually recommend patients avoid spicy stuff early on.

Yeah, temperature was a big deal for me too. I found cold smoothies or shakes soothing at first, but after a while, even those felt uncomfortable. Weirdly enough, room-temp broth ended up being my go-to. And about spicy foods...I tried mild curry once thinking it'd be fine—big mistake, haha. Took me another week before I dared anything beyond bland soups again.
