are pricier manual toothbrushes really worth it?

Yeah, totally get what you're saying. I've tried pricier brushes before, thinking they'd somehow improve my dental health overnight... but honestly, didn't notice much difference. I do admit the softer bristles felt nicer on my gums, though. Cheap brushes sometimes make me anxious—like I'm damaging enamel or something—but maybe that's just me being overly cautious. Technique definitely matters most, but comfort counts too. If a brush feels harsh or uncomfortable, I tend to rush through brushing, which probably defeats the whole purpose. Guess it's about finding that balance between comfort and effectiveness without overspending...

Totally relate to the anxiety about damaging enamel—been there myself. I used to buy those super cheap multipacks, but after a while, my gums started feeling irritated. Switched to a mid-range brush with softer bristles and it made brushing way less stressful. Still not convinced pricier brushes do anything magical, though. Has anyone noticed if certain brush head shapes or sizes make brushing easier or more comfortable? Curious if that's another factor worth considering...
