how often do you actually swap out your toothbrush?

I was brushing my teeth this morning and realized my toothbrush looks like it's been through a war zone. Bristles all bent, colors faded... honestly, I can't even remember when I bought it. I know dentists say every three months or something, but does anyone actually stick to that? Feels like I'm always forgetting until it's embarrassingly worn out. Curious if I'm the only one who's terrible at keeping track of this stuff.

You're definitely not alone—I always mean to swap mine out regularly, but somehow months slip by unnoticed. I started setting phone reminders after my dentist gently pointed out my toothbrush looked "tired"... kinda embarrassing, but it helps me stay on track.

Haha, I've totally been there. My kid's dentist gave us this colorful little chart to track toothbrush changes, and I thought, "Great, now we'll be perfect at this!" But somehow, life happens, and next thing you know, the toothbrush bristles look like they've been through a hurricane. I try to notice when my son's brush gets all frayed...but honestly, it's usually him complaining it's "scratchy" that finally clues me in. Guess we're all just doing our best!

Haha, you're definitely not alone there. Even as someone who works in dental care, I sometimes catch myself thinking, "Wait, when did I last swap mine out?" Life gets busy, and honestly, noticing the frayed bristles or hearing the kids complain is a pretty common reminder for most parents. The important thing is you're aware and trying your best—sounds like you're doing great already.

Glad I'm not the only one who struggles with this. I used to be pretty lax about replacing mine until I had some gum issues and my dentist pointed out that worn bristles can actually irritate gums more. Now I just set a reminder on my phone every few months—otherwise I'd never remember. Honestly, even then, sometimes I snooze it for weeks before finally swapping it out.
